Snow Castle

We have been blessed with beautiful,

sunny weather this week in West Michigan.

Our snow is slowly melting away...

I found this snow castle building kit on clearance at Meijer.

Will this be the only time we can use it this year? Let's hope!!

After we made our castle,
Kendall wanted to know who would live in it.
I ran inside and grabbed her Strawberry Shortcake stuff.

Looks like S.S. settled into her new snow castle nicely!

Brady Snowboarding

Brady took up snowboarding last weekend. Here he is on his second time out...

Party Preparations

Brady has been planning his Super Bowl party since November.
He's been handing out slips of paper at school. They say Super Bowl and our phone number.

He started decorating this morning. He got mad at me about something and said I couldn't come to the party. I asked where I was supposed to go and he said to my room, but I could NOT watch the game on my TV. I reminded him that I was funding the party and making the food, so he had a change of heart...
Phew - this is going to be some party and I wouldn't want to miss it!!

Field Trip to Camp Roger!

Every year, the second graders at Lakes hike over to Camp Roger for the day. It's a 15 minute walk down Belding Road. Two sheriff deputies came and blocked traffic so we could cross the busy road. Once at camp, we had a full day of activities including: measuring trees, studying plants, tasting sassafrass, chomping on white pine needles, making sleds out of cardboard, and finally snow shoeing. It was an exhausting day for Mom, but so much fun and totally worth it!
