Brady's Day at the Zoo

Brady went on a field trip to the zoo.

Summertime in Northern Michigan

We had a lovely weekend in Bellaire with the Forells!

We arrived at about 9:00 on Thursday night and

the kids went straight to the lake - clothes and all!

Friday morning - back in the water, but with bathing suits this time.

We drove in to Elk Rapids to get some ice cream.

Kendall chose Superman. By the time she was done,

her shirt was covered with ice cream drips.

She even had some on her back!

On Saturday, Kendall got to play with a buddy - Hunter -

while the boys went fishing with the dads.

Happy Father's Day!

Brady woke me up at 7:30 and said we needed to go to the bakery to get Todd donuts for Father's Day. No one in our house needs to eat donuts, but he was very excited so I obliged. We chose an apple fritter and Brady did the decorating. I couldn't help but try to make a healthy option as well...

We spent the rest of the day at the pool...

Fairy Princess Tea

Kendall and I went to visit my mom because we had been invited to a Fairy Princess Tea. The Tea was hosted by Keyke's friend from church. It was a lovely affair!

Todd took Brady's old basketball hoop and rigged it up to the tramp. The boys loved it!

Blue Spotted Salamander

I was cleaning up our landscaping and I found this little guy.

At first, I didn't think it was real because it looked like a rubber fishing lure.

After a quick Google search, Owen and I discovered that it was a Blue Spotted Salamander. They are actually quite common in this area, but I've never seen one!


The boys want to keep him as a "pet", but I did not want the poor thing to be tortured.

We brought him over to the old tree near our soccer field.

Festival

We ventured out to experience Festival of the Arts in downtown GR.

Kendall is ready!
Brady found a small grove of trees and just loved climbing and jumping.

Last Day of First Grade!

Brady's last day of first grade was 6/5/09.

He had a great year and I could not have been more happy with his teacher.
