Camping at Jellystone

We went camping with our group of neighbor friends (A/K/A - the Core Four) at Jellystone in Grand Haven. There were four families and 20 people all together. We stayed in cute little log cabins. They had beds and that's about it. It rained pretty hard for about an hour on Saturday and things seemed pretty miserable, but then the sun came back out and we went for ice cream. All in all, the trip was a success!

This is my favorite part about camping! It was even more fun after all the kids went to bed!

Wabasis Lake

We spent the afternoon at Wabasis Lake.
We brought a picnic lunch and it was a beautiful day!

I have a bag of sand toys that I've been carting around in my van all summer long. Somehow they were MIA the day we finally made it to the beach. We had to make sand castles with our hands!
Here is a pic of Kendall glaring at me because she was really upset about something. Hmmm, I wonder where she gets that look??
Her bad mood didn't last long!

He...could...go...all...the...WAY!

Brady had his first football game of the season today.
His team is the Panthers and they are in purple.
Brady is in the lower right corner.

Here is a video of his touchdown. He ran the ball five times and scored twice!

Picnic in Lake Odessa

We met Grandma Mimi and the clan at a really fun park in Lake Odessa.

After our picnic, we walked over to the lake.

Weird Bug!!

Brady found this little guy in our neighbor's driveway. He came running home to say he found a "snake's head and it's still moving". Gross! We went over to investigate and found this caterpillar. After some internet research, I determined that it is a Tiger Swallowtail caterpillar. The "eyes" are fake. They're used to make birds think it's a snake. Too bad we didn't capture him, because according to my research, they turn dark green / brown right before they make their cocoon.

It Was Summer Time in Northern Michigan...

There ain't no party like a Boyne Mountain party!
Here we are at Kid Rock up in Boyne. The crowd was a little rougher than we are used to at "Todd's Arena", but a good time was had by all. Well... there was a guy on all fours throwing up near the outhouses. He looked pretty PO'd when his friend gave him a wedgie!

Here is Todd laughing hysterically at me because
I couldn't figure out how to use his camera phone.
